CSR Compliance Lab
COURSE SUMMARY
Compliance Lab provides you with a solid understanding of contemporary CSR and updates you on recent developments; primarily the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (June 2011) and subsequently the EU strategy on CSR (October 2011), the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the Danish National Action Plan for CSR 2012-2015. The Lab illustrates how complex documents and frameworks can be turned into operational processes and actions, thereby building your CSR capacity.
Building on this knowledge you will get the tools to assess your company’s current approach to CSR. By the end of the course you will not only have gained more knowledge and new perspectives on the latest development of CSR; you will also be equipped with the necessary tools to implement and comply with current international and national expectations on CSR. This hands-on approach allows for you to have a concrete output for immediate use in your company. No matter how you will engage with CSR in the future this course provides you with the necessary competences in this field.
WHY THIS COURSE?
While giving you an overview of the current state of CSR, the course goes into depth with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs). The course can help you answer questions such as:
What are the human rights expectations for companies?
How will the new Danish OECD complaint mechanisms operate?
How will you meet the new Danish reporting requirements on human rights?
The UNGPs were unanimously endorsed by UN in June 2011 and have since been incorporated by the OECD, IFC, EU and several other major actors. They constitute the authoritative international reference point for how business shall handle human rights impacts – the core of social sustainability. Further, the foundation of the UNGPs can be used as a means of compliance for core environmental and economic principles. The lab enables you to assess your company’s CSR activities both internally and externally in light of the UNGPs.
The ‘CSR Compliance Lab’ is directed at all companies and organisations that wish to ensure their compliance with current international and national expectations on CSR. It is not just a CSR course, but a working lab that gives you the tools, guidance and time to assess your company’s alignment with international authoritative guidelines on CSR – the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
The course enables participants to put international guidelines into practice – assessing their current CSR activities with the new expectations set by the UN, OECD, EU and the Danish Government.
