CSR Meetings and Club
The CSR Club Founder Michael Hopkins (CSRFI) with Zeinab Badawi (BBC)
The Club
The Club has its origins in the CSR Meetups founded by Michael Hopkins with the first one in Washington DC on Dec 20 2009. Since then the Meetups have expanded to 10 cities with around 3000 members. Many more requests are in the pipeline and therefore a new approach is needed both to inform members, and to be informed by them.
The Club works to provide members with our strong network based upon our international comparative advantage around the world in all the main continents. Closely related, given our international nature, is that Club members may read about ideas, activities, thinkings, new approaches from other parts of the world than their own. [We are still in Beta testing mode of the website which you may see here and shall launch our full range of international CSR/Sustainability services this year in September.]
Vision of Club
Ensure CSR reaches every part of the world through providing tools for sustainable business and institutions
Aim of Club
Promote the Multi-Stakeholder Model of CSR (aka Sustainability) across the world and thereby contribute to Sustainable Development with the aim to make the world a better place to live in for all.
CSR Meetings (formerly CSR Meetups)
CSR Meetups are run monthly in many locations around the world They are held in informal settings and networking is encouraged. A small charge is asked simply to pay for the venue and ensure we get good conditions…some locations offer tapas and refreshments.
Each CSR Meetup has a keynote speaker followed by discussion. Average attendance is around 15 to 20, and up to 50-75 in the bigger cities. They take place normally during the week starting at 630pm and located in the centre of the city.
To date we have a membership of around 2000 high level professionals. Each meeting is sponsored by CSRFI.
Thank you for pointing me to the CSR Meetup in Geneva where Andrea and Desiree spoke. It was very informative and the network was amazing. I was able to help one person the week after and get some useful advice from others. I will definitely attend on a frequent basis.
